Fundraising Momentum

Understanding the Fundraising Momentum chart

Updated this week

Fundraising Momentum shows, of funds that have reached a final close, the average number of months they were fundraising for.

Additionally, it will show the % of target size achieved at first close and final close

How is it calculated?

Like Historical Fundraising, this search will only include closed-ended, commingled funds.

Funds will need the following criteria to be included:

  • Have a reported fundraising launch date and final close date

  • Have a reported first close date

  • Have a reported target size and final close size

  • Have a reported first close size

For an underlying list of funds for a given filter, use the funds advanced search and view the following columns:

  • Months in Market

  • Months to First Close

  • Target Size (USD mn)

You will then be able to amend the relevant filters to identify the pool of funds for the given strategies/splits you may require
