Browser & Pro Requirements

We recommend that you access Preqin Pro from Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Safari in order to get the best experience possible. Unfortunately Preqin Pro will no longer operate on Internet Explorer as Microsoft has rescinded support for the browser.

Preqin Pro makes cross-domain API calls. If you are experiencing performance issues within your corporate network, it might mean your company’s proxies are blocking calls to our APIs. Please view page 3 of the attached document, which will include the webcalls and whitelisted links for your tech team to allow/whitelist Preqin System Requirements - EN.PDF

Browser Configuration

Any supported browser must meet the following requirements:

• JavaScript and cookies are enabled

• Allow third-party cookies (some browsers are now disabling third-party cookies by default)

• Disable pop-up blocker

System Clock Synchronization

The local time on your local PC must be within 2 minutes of the Preqin server system time that you connect to. This is because authentication uses Java Web Tokens that expire in a relatively short time in line with best practice. If your screen is blank when trying to login or you see an “Oh no” error message and the URL bar shows a long text string permanently, this could be a sign that your PC clock has drifted too far from the server time and your Java Web Token has expired.

If this happens, reset the time on your PC. We first recommend that you check the sync time by going to ‘https://time.is’ as this will tell you the difference.

• On Windows systems, navigate to Date & Time and check the “synchronize your clock” settings

• On MacOS this can be found under System settings > General > Date & Time

Please note this may require support from your IT team to make these changes depending on what access you have to make changes to your devices’ settings.

Troubleshooting Browser Issues

Common fixes for viewing or loading issues:

Clearing your browser’s cache. You can find instructions on clearing your cache below:

Chrome

Safari

Please note, you only need to clear your cache and cookies for preqin.com. This will ensure you don’t lose your preferences for other sites.

Perform a hard refresh

• On Windows systems [Ctrl + F5]

• On MacOS systems [Command + Shift + R]

Exporting Data from Preqin Pro (Microsoft Edge Browser Only)

For users of Microsoft Edge, you will need to enable the “OpenOffice files in the browser” under Settings > Downloads:
